IMPROVISATION

KREPSKO was first put on stage as an improvisational experiment, to see what would happen if 6 people improvised at the same time, without deciding anything beforehand. In that first improvisation 3. 3. 2001 in the theatre NOD, unexpectedly the language of KREPSKO started to form. The improvisation was called PAST NA TLUSTOKOŽCE – TRAP FOR THE THICK-SKINNED. It started with the small solo-performance MAMELUK by Petr Lorenc and fluently continued into the group improvisation by the international team of Linnea Happonen (FIN), Pierre Nadaud (F), Ondřej Lipovský (CZ), Žan Loose (HR), Petr Lorenc (CZ) and Vojta Švejda (CZ). After this experiment the encouragement from the audience gave us reason to continue fooling. For the first two years, improvisations were the main projects of KREPSKO with the same group of 6. Later the members and aims changed gradually and KREPSKO began producing different kinds of performances.

During the years, KREPSKO has created and played several improvisations as well as other unusual projects. Special guests have been invited, for example theatre director Jan Nebeský (the first guest), Jenne Magno & Adi Morawitz (tango teachers), Emoke the dog, as well as more than 30 women at once of different ages and occupations.

KREPSKO has also created several special projects, for example in the Prague Zoo (in the cage of lemurs), in the old Trolley bus travelling around the town of Pardubice, a co-operation project with the artist Petr Nikl and German group Theaterlabor, and STOLEN OVATIONS – stealing the ovations from the National Theatre of Prague.
